Private Pilot Certification
A Private Pilot Certification is internationally referred to as a PPL (Private Pilot License). This is the first certification that you will take as a pilot, and serves as a foundational building block as you seek more certifications and ratings. With this certification you can fly both day and night, in optimal flight conditions.
Total Hours: 40 Hours
Must also meet requirements under 14 CFR § 61.109
After earning a Private Pilot Certification, a pilot is eligible to earn their Instrument Rating. This Rating is the next step in each pilot’s journey and expands flying capacities by teaching pilots how to safely fly in inclement weather and low visibility situations.
Total Hours: 50 Hours (90 Cumulative Hours)
Must also meet requirements under 14 CFR § 61.65
Commercial Pilot Certification
A Commercial Pilot Certification qualifies pilots to fly for compensation. Unlike the Private Pilot Certification, which is only suitable for recreational use, this certification allows pilot’s to earn money through their service.
Total Hours: 250 Cumulative Hours
Must also meet requirements under 14 CFR § 61.129
At this time, we offer two levels of Instructor Certification: the Certified Flight Instructor Certification (CFI), and the Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument Certification (CFII).
Becoming a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) allows a pilot to teach Private Pilot and Commercial Single Engine Students the basics of flying, furthering their own knowledge and setting them up for the next step in the airline industry.
The Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument Certification (CFII) allows pilots to teach instrument rating courses. If you’re already a professional pilot then this is the best way to expand your skills.
Must meet requirements under 14 CFR § 61.183
